What are some good exercises to build your chest muscles?
I find my chest not as developed as the rest of my body. Would somebody plz give me some best exercises to build my chest.
Thank you!
Every other day I alternate between free-weight exercises and push-up triples for the chest muscles and now Ive got a shelf on my front region!
Im a little skinny guy too, 130 pounds, and Im bench pressing 180. So anyways try this out:
Day 1:
Bench press- Remember to do 3 or 4 sets, and bump up the weight each set. First step, figure out what the maximum weight is you can lift one time and one time only. So start at a comfortable light-ish weight and do 15 reps to warm up. Put on 20 pounds and do 10 reps. Put on another 20 pounds and see if you can do 10. If you gauged the weight right you shouldnt be able to get 10 reps, maybe you can do 8. Final set put on all the weight you can manage: your max rep. After a few days of doing your max rep, and struggling to squeeze it out youll find you can do more and more reps, then you can move up the weight.
Dumbell press- After the bench press move to another muscle group exercise. Then do the dumbell press. It works the muscles more because you have to stabilize the weight with your arms.
Day 2-
Push-ups- Do 10 regular palms down shoulder width push-ups. Then hold yourself a couple inches off the ground and count 10 mississippis. Repeat twice for a total of 30 push-ups and 30 seconds holding counting as one set.
Then do it again with a different style push-up, like fists down elbows at your side. Then again like palms together angled inwards and feet spread wide apart.
Clean and press- I dont know what this is really called and the names are too weird, but you go from a deadlift to a standing shoulder press. To ease any back pain and strengthen your body all around for other exercises this is my number 1. First I use the barbell alone, which is 45 pounds, and do 3 sets of 20 reps. Its a killer! Then I do the deadlift alone, working up to 160 pounds. Then I do the standing press alone, working up to 120 pounds. Then I do the whole movement, working up to 160.
Enjoy!
