lower body fat from 12% to 9% – high level rower?
Rower. 5 feet, 11 inches, 163 pounds. I want to basically stay the same weight while cutting down body fat to 9%. I burn about 1,300 calories per workout, not counting muscle recovery.
My problem is that I find i feel and perform better when my body is flooded with calories. I need a way of dieting off extra fat while still getting the strong base of calories I need to sustain and continue to build lean muscle mass.
After workouts Im drinking Muscle Milk (300 calories or so) and Ive gained about six pounds over the last 12 weeks as a result of eating everything in sight. Thanks hope I can find some help
Exercise does give you an increased appetite. If one serving of muscle milk is all the protein supplementation you are doing, you are not getting enough protein. You need about 160 grams of protein per day. In addition, the rest of your diet should be mostly fruit and vegetables. Raw is better for you nutritionally because any kind of cooking destroys some of the nutrients. Another thing which may be affecting your appetite is your hydration level. Be sure you are downing a lot more water when training hard.
